PLAYER SIGN-UP & ELIGIBILITY

 

OAKLAND UNIVERSITY

INCOMING OR TRANSFER STUDENT OU REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Scholarships are not offered or available.

  2. Admission requirements for first year students: 2.5 GPA and 18 ACT.

  3. Admission requirements for Transfer students with less than 24 community college or university credits: 2.5 GPA from both High School and the Higher Education institutions they have attended.

  4. Our Admission requirements for Transfer students with 24 credits or more from a community college or university: 2.5 GPA.

  5. If a student does not meet these requirements, specifically in the case of a Transfer student, yet they show a positive trend from the last 24 credits taken we will provide admission. Positive trend would be a 2.5 GPA or better from the last 24 credits.

The Football Club at Oakand University competes in the National Club Football Assosciation.

NCFA Player Eligibility - Football Club Players must:

  1. Be an OU Student taking 6 credits enrolled in undergrad or graduate courses at Oakland University

    • Example 1: unaccecptible = 2 OU Credits + 6 OCC credits

    • Example 2: accepctible = 6 OU Credits + 4 OCC credits

  2. Must not have already played 4 years in NCAA football program. Must not have played football for money (semi-pro or above). You must not have played in a professional football league (i.e. a league named pro or one which any players earned $).

  3. Must sign the OU Club/Intramural Sports Waiver

  4. Under these rules, all players have 5 yrs. eligibility

    • Anyone who has played NCAA must subtract their years played from that 5 years to determine eligibilty.

 

2016 PLAYER PRICE BREAKDOWN: 

  • You must buy/own your own helmet (matte vegas gold), shoulder pads, player equipment. If you don't already have pads/helmet, etc. the club can hook you up with discounts.

  • Sign up for a player profile account ($1) to the NCFA (National Club Football Association) website (not included in cost)

  • Pay an annual club fee ($500 for 2016 season). Fees help pay for travel, field rental, etc.

  • Must purchase jerseys through the club.  Home & away  jersey, game pants, helmet decals included.

  • All clothing and cleats worn in 2016 must be Adidas. We have a player portal for purchasing team clothing/cleats.

 

EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FROM CLUB:

The football club does not supply equipment, anything that you purchase is yours to keep. We do REQUIRE a MATTE VEGAS GOLD FINISH for the helmet. Football Club receives all Xenith football equipment and Riddell equipment at a bulk discount. If you need pads, you may purchase them through us.

You will need: helmet (matte vegas gold) black facemask & chinstrap, shoulder pads, girdle, thigh, and knee pads, belt.
